We have been greatly heartened by the response to the appeal to help us support Afghan families arriving in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. We are so grateful for the money donated on our website www.sloughrefugeesupport.org.uk and heartened by the kind comments that accompanied some of the donations These ranged from the welcome above to comments such as:
“Thanks for all the hard work you do in supporting refugees in the Thames Valley region.”

“This is sent for and with the warmest welcome to the Afghan Refugees. Thank you for helping them.”
These comments encourage us to believe that the families who arrive in our community will be treated with warmth, respect and support. Thank you to all our donors.
When they come to the UK, students may take advantage of new experiences, diverse cultures, and exciting academic opportunities. Many initially had trouble adjusting to the new study methods and writing standards.
