A little journey to Eritrea

I would like to take you on a little journey to Eritrea, a beautiful country in East Africa.

Eritrea has a very old and interesting history.  One beautiful lesson we can learn is the importance of respect.  People may go to different places of worship.  They may celebrate different religious festivals.  They may speak different languages and have different traditions, but we can still be neighbours, friends and part of the same community.

Eritrean culture also teaches us the importance of family, hospitality, sharing food and welcoming others.  And that is something all of us can learn from.  You do not have to come from Eritrea to enjoy Eritrean food, listen to Eritrean music or learn about Eritrean traditions.

And Eritreans can learn about your culture too. We don’t have to be the same to respect each other.

Our differences make our world interesting and beautiful.  So, wherever we come from, whatever language we speak and whatever religion we follow, let us be kind, curious and respectful.

Because when we learn about another person’s culture, we understand each other a little better.

Welcome to the story of Eritrea!
